Bitcoin Is About the People, Not The Institutions
I was privileged to play shows at Bitcoin events in the US, Thailand, and the UK this summer. During my travels, I met some of the nicest people you can imagine, ranging from event organizers, fellow musicians, Bitcoin entrepreneurs, and all-around amazing plebs. It’s remarkable how the journey down the Bitcoin rabbit hole brings people from around the world together around the vital topic of freedom in the digital age.
The governments keep working on CBDCs, institutions such as Blackrock work on launching Bitcoin ETFs, and US presidential candidates keep endorsing Bitcoin, but what truly matters is what the individual bitcoiners do every day worldwide: Humbly stacking sats, running nodes, securing their private keys, transacting with Lightning, and encouraging the rest of the world to Study Bitcoin. Combined with the magnificent open source developer community, Bitcoin has a bright future no matter what the large legacy institutions think of it.Here’s the first live song video release from my summer shows. Huge props for the singing prowess of the audience at the Bitcoin Adventure event in Bristol, UK.
I hope everyone has a fantastic end of the summer, and I hope to see awesome plebs on my upcoming trips to Istanbu, Riga, and Charlotte in the near future.
Stay humble, stack sats, and rock out!
